　Innovative Space Carrier Inc.(Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEOKojiro Hatada), a startup company that aims to create a transportation system that makes space reusablepossible, is pleased to announce that Keiichiro Shimada has been appointed Chief Business Officer (CBO), effective October 1.

◾️ Background

　WE BELIEVE IN "A WORLD WHERE PEOPLE AND CARGO ARE DELIVERED EVERY DAY. OUR VISION IS TO ACHIEVE HIGH-FREQUENCY SPACE TRANSPORTATION IN THE 2040S USING FULLY REUSABLE SINGLE-STAGE SPACE VEHICLES (SSTOS). OUR VISION IS TO DEVELOP A REUSABLE SPACE TRANSPORTATION VEHICLE IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS, WITH THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF CONDUCTING HIGH-FREQUENCY SPACE TRANSPORTATION USING A FULLY REUSABLE SINGLE-STAGE SPACE REUSABLEVEHICLE (SSTO) IN THE 2040S.

　On September 29, we were selected by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) to receive a 100% subsidy of up to 2 billion yen for 12 months up to the first stage gate, under the project theme: Development and demonstration of commercial rockets. Through the subsidized project, we aim to conduct a demonstration flight in a maximum of 4.5 years, and after the subsidized project, we will work on overcoming issues necessary for commercialization and accelerate social implementation.

　In parallel with the development of technology based on these subsidized projects, it is necessary to accelerate the study of space transportation and spaceport business, which is why we have decided to bring in Mr. Shimada as Chief Business Officer.

◾️ Biography of Keiichiro Shimada

He is an entrepreneur born in the United States. After graduating from the School of Commerce at Waseda University, he has worked as an innovation leader, business manager, and executive at Matsushita Electric (now Panasonic), Lucent Technology Japan, a start-up company, Dentsu, IBM Japan, and R/GA. He specializes in creating "world's first", "regional's first", and "industry's first" solutions and new businesses by combining creativity, strategy, and technology. He has given more than 150 keynote presentations at global tech conferences in over 40 countries in the creative and innovation fields. In addition to winning the world's top three advertising awards, global innovation awards, and government contests, he holds a disaster-related patent in Japan and has filed a patent application in the U.S. for behavioral analytics.

SHIMADA AS AN EVANGELIST TO PROMOTE THE USE OF MICHIBIKI, A DOMESTIC GPS SATELLITE OPERATED BY THE CABINET OFFICE, AND WE HAVE BEEN WORKING TOGETHER ON THE IDEAL VISION OF SPACE UTILIZATION IN THE FUTURE.
